“CHANGING TIDES”. . . EL MORRO

THE HISTORIC SITE OF “EL MORRO VILLAGE” WILL BE EVOLVING INTO ITS NEXT PHASE!

PLEASE, GO OUT AND PAINT “EL MORRO VILLAGE”!
As plein air painters, we have the opportunity to document this part of our local history and our California coastline!

In the early 1920’s El Morro, which was then called Tyson’s Beach was host to a summer time bohemian life style of bonfires, beach parties and tent camping.   Over the years the small tents became more elaborate and then eventually evolved into a mobile home park and year around residence for many.

El Morro Village will be removed in the very near future.  Residents await their final eviction notices, which may be given with in the next 48 hours.

El Morro Village has been a slice of California history! The removal of the mobile homes will signify the end of an era!

Please go and paint El Morro Village! Parking is available and you will find that the El Morro residents are happy to have you documenting the cherished life style that they were so fortunate to have experienced.

Thank you for your interest and support of this project!

Sincerely,

Meriam Braselle,
